If Looks Could Kill ....

I had to share this because it epitomizes my day today. This child has mood swings that would do a manic-depressive proud. One minute she's smiling and everything is good, then the next minute she is screaming her head off because Jack looked at her, the cat walked by, she spotted the dog across the room, I paid attention to another child, etc ... If she's not screaming and basically having a tantrum, she is giving me the stink eye. If looks could kill, I'd have been dead LONG ago. Less than two months. I just have to keep telling myself that ... less than two months and I won't have to deal with this anymore.

My Masterpiece.....
I have to say I am pretty impressed with this myself....wow! What do you think? My first one was prettier...but I didn't use M&M's I cheaped out and used Smarties (blech). My first one was not as tall so the gap between frosting and fingers was less....but I'm sure it will tasty yummy....
SIL is taking it to work to celebrate 2 birthdays, since we've already had one cake I wasn't keeping that one in the house...plus its too pretty not to share!

My place
I know it's blurry ... but it's perfect for this. Poor Jack fell down the stairs Thursday .... he was fine but got some MAJOR rug burn on his forehead. On the way out the door at pickup time, he ran into the doorjamb. Erica joked that he'd be in school at age 6 and the teacher would wonder why he couldn't remember vowels.

Before and After
Well the way the photos are situated, I guess it's really an After and Before. The bottom picture is how my deck was originally. The top photo is after I completed it tonight. With some help, I extended the 4x4 posts to 8 feet tall, put a beam across the top and attached some privacy curtains. I only did the work on 2 sides of the deck. The other has a nice view and I didn't want to be totally boxedin. Crappy view and staring neighbours gone!
